My Take: Thom adds the bit to the show that makes us feel like we can identify with them. During the making of their music video, a girl asked if they were really gay (*gapes*), and they asked her what being gay was. She replied that it was when guys dated other guys. Thom laughed and said, "We're not gay, then -- we're lonely!" ^_^ That's the kind of humor that makes us feel like, 'oh, well, I guess I'm not the only loser out there, especially if he'll admit it on national television.' We need that.
